Pinellas County’s $90+ Million Employment Sites Program

Pinellas County instituted the Employment Sites Program (ESP) through the fourth iteration of Penny for Pinellas. This is the first time that funds from this revenue source have been associated with economic development initiatives. A total of 4.15% of the net proceeds of the Penny for Pinellas funds are dedicated to countywide investments in Economic Development Capital Projects. Over ten years it is anticipated that approximately $93 Million will be available.

Hard Hats & Taps Event Serves Up New Opportunities for Local Construction Businesses

On July 29 Pinellas County Economic Development’s Hard Hats and Taps event, co-hosted by the Florida Small Business Development Center, connected 91 attendees representing construction-related businesses and prime contractors in an informal setting at Bayboro Brewing in St. Petersburg, Florida. The goal? Help local businesses find new avenues for growth in a fun, informal setting.
